About

Who are you? What’s your background?

I (Krista) am an INTP, technophile and book lover. A little about my background - I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with majors in Biological Basis of Behavior (basically neuroscience) and Religious Studies (focus on 2nd Temple Judaism and Christian Origins). My senior thesis, published 3 years later in Neuropsychologia, is available online (pdf).

After realizing I had no desire to go to med school or get a PhD in psychology, I did a complete 180 and went to art school. I completed 80+ credits in Drawing, Animation, and Multimedia at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.

I soon realized that to succeed in business, I needed business skills so, I went on to complete joint MBA/MS degrees at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Now I work in marketing and have lots of hobbies. I still enjoy science and keep up with it regularly.

What is the purpose of the site?

ScienceReport.net focuses on the latest studies and advancements in science. I’m primarily interested in neuroscience (which is what my undergrad degree is in) as well as some of the latest studies linking consciousness, physics, and even Buddhism. I’ll probably be blogging a bit of everything, but my three broad areas of focus will be:

  • psychology, brain, and behavior
  • quantum theory and cosmology
  • archaeology and evolution
